What is balanced training?

We are what you would call in the dog training world, “balanced trainers”. We use the Quadrant of Learning theory coined in 1938 by neurologist/psychologist B.F. Skinner. This technique later went hand in hand with Pavlov's Theory, also known as classical conditioning. The Quadrant entails different consequences that make the behavior more or less likely and uses treats as well as corrections to communicate with the dogs.

Setting goals & expectations

The Puppy Program is designed to set your dog up for success by establishing expectations early, fostering good habits, and preventing behavioral issues. By enrolling in this program, you're taking the crucial first steps toward building a strong bond based on trust and confidence.

Training, in general, serves to give dogs a clear purpose and teach them what's expected in any situation. Think back to your first experience at the airport—it was probably overwhelming, with so many people, cars, and signs. But over time, you learned the routine: where to drop off, how to check your bags, which line to stand in, and how to find your gate. Each new experience your dog encounters is similar. They don't know what to do or where to go until you guide them. Once they understand their role, they gain confidence and trust in you to lead them through any situation. This mutual understanding allows you to rely on each other, no matter where you are or what’s happening around you.
